“Evah has a steep learning curve in her self discovery. She learns there were some pretty heavy hitters who came before her. Extuiters with some mind bending prowess, an extuiter who stood against some impossible odds. There’s one with twisted modus operandi who may still be around. She has to resolve the sources of her conflict because she’s on a course that will bring her against forces skilled at using inner conflicts to make puppets.”

-Author, Longoria Wolfe

“I loved the beautiful drawings and pictures in the book; they added to the story and gave a context. Honestly, there is a lot that I loved about this novel.” -Rabia Tanveer, Readers Favorite

Locus of Control, Chapter 5

ON THE PAGE

For a moment, everything was bright, and then she felt something enter her body. The flash of light slipped inside of her. It went into that vacant part of her chest that felt like the emptiness of a demolished space. She did not know its exact origin, but she knew it entered into her. Vibrations stirred through her body. She looked to Cordia who was unmoved and did not see the entity mingle with her. There was the sound of whispers then she was still again before the theater of the sky and the humid planet. She knew what entered into her was a powerful thing that she dared not speak of. We reached out and grabbed him with two of our twelve arms, lifting him high in the air above his seat.

“You used our mother to kill our father,” we said like a spat of boiling water. With our horrid glare reaching inside him I pressed the muzzle of a plasma rifle into his temple. Just like the one I emptied from Felin’s mind. “Do you feel like having your brains blown against the wall?”

Evah was a glorious frightening vision. With one finger I pressed the charging button on the rifle and it made its whine.

“The descriptions are terrific, with a magical feel to them, like eyes that “glow like orange solar winds in the northern sky of Deiphera.” Longoria Wolfe has written a fascinating story and I loved the protagonist’s journey to self-discovery; she grows through each challenge. The descriptive nature of the prose and the gorgeous writing are some of the elements that fascinated me through the journey with Evah.” – Christian Sia, Readers’ Favorite

Planet Spirea, Evah & the Unscrupulous Thwargg, Novel Subject

The planet Spirea once served as the capital world of the Constellation of Spirea. It was the pride of the system. Before the invention of starslides interplanetary travel was costly to the common citizen causing rapid overpopulation. Abuse of the planet’s natural resources and the use of destructive energy sources caused the ecosystem to collapse. After centuries of neglectful industrial behaviors, the ozone layer diminished, causing the polar caps to melt. Two final energy disasters poisoned the oceans by way of natural water cycles. Spirea, now toxic to most forms of life, other than environmentally mutated species, is uninhabited. To sustain the environments of all system planets, Spirea was designated a waste site that decreased the eco failure on six worlds by over fifty percent. Spirea was remembered in the first ceremonies of political induction on the new capital world, Constance, with these words by the Hypathian poet Destae Pahtoo.

“She was the touchstone of our everlast
and the breath of our star song.
In her valley’s we were swaddled
and from her rivers found our spirit.”
